Job Description

At Connect Centric, we are more than just consultants—we are partners committed to our clients' success. We take a hands-on approach, working closely with our clients to transform strategies into measurable, real-world outcomes. As a strategy execution team, we take full ownership of every project from start to finish, ensuring that our clients see tangible results, not just ideas. Our work is grounded in heart, empathy, and accountability, and we recognize that each client is unique. Together, we achieve the most important goals by tailoring our approach to meet the specific needs of every organization we partner with.

We are seeking an experienced API Cloud Engineer to lead and mature our API management practices, supporting integration across our cloud environment. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing APIs to ensure seamless interoperability and reliability in our cloud-based systems. • Maturity of API Practices: Drive the maturity of API practices within the organization, establishing governance, documentation standards, and best practices to streamline API usage and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices for API management, including authentication, authorization, and data protection. Ensure all API practices align with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with DevOps, cloud, and development teams to design and implement integrated API solutions that facilitate seamless data flow and application interoperability.
  • Monitoring and Optimization: Develop monitoring solutions for API performance and availability, troubleshooting issues as they arise to minimize disruption and ensure high-quality user experiences.

Technical Skills

  • API Management Tools: Proficiency with AWS API Gateway and related services, as well as MuleSoft for API integration and management.
  • API Lifecycle Management: In-depth understanding of API design, development, and maintenance, including experience with RESTful services, SOAP, containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
  • Security Practices: Strong knowledge of API security protocols, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, and token-based authentication.
  • Performance Monitoring: Familiarity with API monitoring tools and techniques to maintain performance and reliability.
  • Automation and Scripting: Skills in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, GitHub Actions) to streamline API management tasks.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years in API management and cloud engineering, with a proven track record in API lifecycle management and AWS API tools.
  • Additional Skills: Experience with Agile methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, contributing to efficient deployment and integration of APIs.
