Full-time Private Chef or Two Part-time Chefs in Palo Alto!
About the Family: A family of four based in Palo Alto is seeking an experienced and versatile Private Chef to join their household. The family consists of two parents who primarily enjoy South Indian cuisine, with occasional North Indian dishes, and two children (ages 17 and 10) who prefer vegetarian options from Mexican, American, Italian, and other international cuisines. This is a warm, respectful household that values family-friendly, adaptable individuals who bring creativity and professionalism to their role.
Location: Palo Alto, CA
Schedule: Flexible options: Monday to Friday or split shifts between 2 Chefs (e.g., Sunday to Wednesday and Thursday to Saturday)
Compensation and Benefits:
• Monday through Friday salary starts at $150,000 annually.
o Monthly healthcare stipend.
o Two weeks of paid time off (aligned with family’s vacation schedule).
o Mandated sick time.
• Part-time rate between $55 and 75 per hour.
o Two weeks of paid time off (aligned with family’s vacation schedule).

• Opportunity to take additional time off during family travel periods (e.g., Holidays, Thanksgiving, and summer vacations aligned with the school calendar).
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and serve fresh, healthy, and diverse meals tailored to the family’s preferences and dietary needs.
o South Indian staples (e.g., dosas, curries, uttapam, rasam, with minimal barley or excess rice).
o North Indian dishes (e.g., flatbreads, dal, rajma, paneer masala).
o Vegetarian meals with a focus on Mexican, American, Italian, and international cuisines for the children.
• Prepare and store meals in advance for weekends if working Monday to Friday.
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to high standards of hygiene and safety.
• Accommodate special requests and feedback from the family, maintaining a collaborative and respectful dynamic.
• Create meal plans that balance the family’s recipes with your own creative input.
• Source fresh, high-quality ingredients and manage pantry supplies efficiently.
• Flexibly adjust to the family’s schedule, including aligning vacation time with their travel plans.
• Adhere to household rules, such as wearing house shoes while working.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Private Chef preparing Indian cuisine.
• Proficiency in South Indian and North Indian cooking, with a strong ability to adapt to vegetarian and international cuisines.
• Strong organizational skills and a calm demeanor under pressure.
• Family-oriented, approachable, and open to constructive feedback.
