Corestaff is currently recruiting a Purchasing Assistant for a long-term temporary position supporting one of our prestigious university clients in Washington, DC. This position offers flexibility, with the option to work a hybrid schedule (three days in-office and two days remote) or fully on-site.

About the Role:

The Purchasing Assistant will support various teams, including accounting, financial reporting, student accounts, financial operations, data analysis, procurement, payables, travel services, treasury operations, risk management, and tax reporting. The ideal candidate will handle high-volume purchasing requests while ensuring accuracy and compliance with university policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process a large volume of purchasing requests for goods and services.
• Collaborate with departments and respond to internal and external customer inquiries.
• Issue purchase requests in Oracle using appropriate account codes.
• Update systems with requisition numbers, purchase order information, and order status.
• Resolve requisition issues, including missing/expired backup, incorrect coding, and missing receipts of goods.
• Track and follow up on outstanding purchase requests.
• Liquidate purchase requests and monitor PO encumbrance and software expirations.
• Collect, track, and file certificates of insurance.
• Generate and retrieve system reports.
• Maintain accurate records of purchasing documents and files.
• Provide guidance to internal and external customers regarding purchasing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant area of specialization (must be conferred by the start date).
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Oracle or similar procurement systems preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
