Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation and planning, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for providing top-notch client service. As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for managing complex tax engagements, mentoring junior staff, and working closely with clients to deliver comprehensive tax solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review complex individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and risk mitigation
Conduct detailed tax research and stay updated on current tax laws and regulations
Manage multiple tax engagements, ensuring all deadlines are met and client expectations are exceeded
Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and answer their tax-related questions
Mentor and train junior staff, reviewing their work and providing guidance on technical issues
Assist with tax audits and represent clients before tax authorities as needed
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on tax matters
Participate in business development activities, including networking and expanding service offerings

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree in Taxation preferred
CPA certification is required
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations
Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., ProSystem fx, Lacerte, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and concise manner
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience working in a small firm environment is a plus
