As we transition from an enterprise-centric model to a consumer-first approach, this role will be instrumental in crafting clear, compelling, and user-centered content that enhances our products and supports our mission of protecting people. In this role, you will collaborate closely with product management, engineering, design, and marketing teams to create content strategies that resonate with our users. Your work will help shape the voice of McAfee across all digital touchpoints, ensuring that our products are not only secure but also intuitive and engaging. This is a Hybrid position located at our San Jose, CA office. We will only consider candidates located within a commutable distance to our office. We are not offering relocation with this position. About the Role: Thought Leadership: Drive content strategy for McAfee’s consumer products, ensuring that every piece of content is aligned with our mission to protect and empower users. Craftsmanship: Develop clear, concise, and user-friendly content that simplifies the product experience. Solve complex user, product, and business problems through innovative UX writing and content design solutions. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop a unified product narrative. Ensure consistency in voice, tone, and messaging across all user touchpoints. Systems Thinking: Help create and refine content design processes, frameworks, and patterns that can be scaled across teams and products. Help establish best practices for UX writing and content design that drive user engagement and satisfaction. About You: Experience writing content for UI in consumer products. Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Design, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 9+ years of experience in UX writing, content strategy, or a related field, with a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to craft user-centered content. A portfolio or link showcasing your work is required (please provide access instructions if necessary). We prefer a Master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience. Experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization, with a deep understanding of how to balance user needs with business goals. 3+ years of writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing experience in an agency setting. Experience developing information architecture for complex documentation sets or product suites, including localization and accessibility best practices. Familiarity with user experience research principles and practices and how to use data to provide informed user insights. Company Overview McAfee is a leader in personal security for consumers.
